5 Easy Rules to Beat the Trailing Drawdown in Futures Trading
Struggling with the trailing drawdown? Follow these simple rules to pass your trading evaluation without stress!
Rule 1: Trade More Than One Contract
Always use more than one contract.
If bigger contracts feel risky, use micros.
More contracts = more flexibility!
Rule 2: Scale Out Early
Take profit on your first contract once you're halfway to your risk amount.
Lock in profits early to lower your risk.
Rule 3: Exit with 1 Timeframing
Use 1 timeframing (1-TF) to exit your second contract.
This helps you capture big wins without giving profits back.
Bigger wins, less stress!

Rule 4: Ignore Drawdown Unless at New Highs
Only worry about trailing drawdown when your balance hits a new all-time high.
No new high = No worries!
Keep calm and trade smart.
Rule 5: Limit Risk to 10%
Risk only 10% of your allowed drawdown per trade.
This gives you room to have up to 10 losses in a row without failing.
Adjust your risk as your account moves up or down.
BONUS TIP (Rule 6): Break the Losing Cycle Fast
If you're on a losing streak, aim for a quick, small win.
Any win, big or small, breaks the losing streak.
